adato

adato was founded in 2002 by François Valentiny and GG Kirchner as an international communication platform for renowned experts from the grand duchy and abroad discussing their work through reports and critical analyses.

In the year 2017, Anna Valentiny was appointed as editor in chief. The editorial board is since then composed by a striving team of friends and young professionals: Eleni Palles, Nikolas Ettel & Jérôme Becker.

The same year Studio Polenta redesigned the magazine. In this process, not only the magazine’s skin but also its content were adapted to a new format: In the form of essays, interviews, reportages or Werkschau, ADATO is practicing and thinking architecture in relation to neighbouring fields such as fine arts, film, and theatre, yet always within the socio-political context of the spheres we share.

ADATO speaks English, German and French. ADATO encourages a debating culture beyond disciplines, while allowing young thinkers to test ideas and thereby connecting diverse critical voices across the globe. ADATO creates a place for speculation, research and exploration. ADATO fosters a post-disciplinary discourse, and thrives through the global scale of its editorial network.

ADATO is published since 2020 by Point Nemo.
